Together with Roman Šebrle, another Olympic medallist, he founded the Versatility Badge project, which later became part of the Sazka Olympic Allaround Sports school project. Změlík is one of top ten decathletes in the history of the Czech Republic and Czechoslovakia. Apart from taking a gold medal at the 1992 Olympics, he also became an indoor decathlon champion at the 1997 world championship and a silver medallist at the 1992 European Indoor Championship.
